About a year ago, I took the oath of office to begin serving as the Councilmember of Honolulu's 4th Council District, spanning from Ala Moana to Hawaii Kai.
From assisting District 4 residents with various city-related inquiries and issues to working on developments throughout the island, the past year has been exciting and busy. The Honolulu City Council addressed a lot of important issues in the past year; we adopted a $2.3 billion operating budget and $569 million capital improvement project budget, of which we committed nearly $140 million to specific programs and initiatives to address the growing issue of homelessness.
With my wife and daughter by my side, my grandparents and mother looking on, I took the oath of office on Friday, January 2nd, 2015, to begin my service as Councilmember for Honolulu's 4th Council District.
